Collins Aerospace is seeking a dynamic Subcontract Buyer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the Subcontracts organization, demonstrating professional expertise and contributing to the procurement process.

In this role you'll collaborate closely with Subcontracts personnel to plan and organize all procurement elements, ensuring seamless operations.

Responsibilities include directing and managing schedules and purchase orders to meet 3rd party demand. You'll coordinate with the logistics team to guarantee timely delivery and induction of goods, work with accounts payable to ensure prompt payment of invoices, and liaise with suppliers for necessary returns, repairs, and upgrades. Additionally, you will communicate order statuses to internal customers and handle other related tasks as they arise.

What You Will Do:

  • Executes Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.

  • Addresses client inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Manages activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to optimize terms in the organization’s best interest.

  • Generates purchase orders, facilitates payments, and negotiates prices to streamline the procurement process, under general guidance.

  • Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data to provide insights on competitive pricing.

  • Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to pursue new opportunities.

  • Coordinates with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries, resolving issues such as shortages and delays.

  • Manages all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.

  • Oversees schedules and purchase orders for client accounts or product families.

  • Ensures timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and cost efficiency of products.

  • May perform responsibilities related to delivery assurance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to autonomously solve complex problems with limited supervision.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in SAP PR1 with hands-on experience.

  • Proficiency in Ariba with practical knowledge.

  • Skilled in O365 Tools, particularly Microsoft Excel.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
