GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Registrar’s Office supports students and the college through responsible and accurate maintenance of student records and consultation and guidance on issues related to course scheduling, student information systems, and related enrollment processes and procedures. Under general direction of the College Registrar, the Registrar System Support Analyst plays a visible, responsible, and versatile leadership role in the Registrar’s Office. This is the primary position to assist the College Registrar with information technology systems planning, implementation, innovation, support, and data integrity. This role provides leadership in information technology systems management, planning, integration, testing and transformation. The position provides day-to-day management, oversight, vision, and direction for systems and technology functions and applications under the broad purview of the Registrar’s Office and integrated systems that support streamlined and seamless experiences for students, staff, and faculty. This position will also assist in leveraging systems to improve service to students, faculty, and staff, ensure integrity of student data in the college SIS, and promote and support the functions of the Registrar’s Office and larger institutional priorities and initiatives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate phases related to student records in Ellucian products software planning and implementation including system upgrades, regularly released updates, fixes, development and deployment of new functionality, production issues, and ad hoc reporting

  • Represent the Registrar in collaboration with the IT team and implement solutions and troubleshoot advanced technical system issues on behalf of the Registrar’s Office

  • Plan, analyze, develop, and perform or coordinate the execution of system testing to ensure data integrity and system performance within the Ellucian suite

  • Assist the Registrar in the review, interpretation, and response to changes in federal and state statutes and regulations that may need IT solutions

  • Execute regularly scheduled processes with significant impact on registration and student records.

  • Accurately document and assist in creation of training materials for end users

  • Create reports for testing purposes and internal reporting needs

  • Represent the College in the most positive manner to students, parents, and community members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems or related technical field or Associate’s Degree in computer science, information systems or related technical field with 3 years of recent and relevant job experience.

  • Experience with developing, documenting, and implementing technical processes and project plans

  • Previous experience managing or participating in software or systems integration projects

  • Experience writing technical specifications, process flow diagrams, test cases and/or procedural manuals

  • Strong customer service orientation, including excellent planning, organizational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Able to interpret questions, identify problems and propose solutions, read reference manuals

  • Communicate technical issues effectively in both oral and written format to users of the administrative systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in higher education.

  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague student information system and SQL.

  • Demonstrated experience of progressively responsible full-time professional work experience in a records related environment
