[Essential Functions [Under general supervision of the building Principals and Director of School Improvement, the primary function of the EL Coordinator is to empower EL students with the knowledge and abilities to become active learners in an English-speaking environment.   • Develop individual learning plans for all EL students, outlining detailed strategies to move these students from EL to English speaking.
  • Screen all EL students to descriptively identify the targeted needs of each student.
  • Meet and instructs tutors, classroom teachers, and identified school EL personnel in the techniques and instructional strategies for EL students.
  • Have scientific research-based programming to assist student progress.
  • Interpret data from assessments to determine alterations to individual learning plans.
  • Effectively communicate with the curriculum coordinator, principals, instructors, and tutors involved with each EL student.
  • Assist in the EL evaluation assessments for the State at the end of the year.
  • Work collaboratively with others to continually develop and adjust the EL policy as needed to better fit the EL population of the District.
  • Effectively monitor students exiting the EL program and provide continued evaluation of their progress as students in the district.
  • Effectively models instructional strategies and technology instruction for staff involved with EL students.
  • Collaborate with the staff and tutors to continually evaluate the progress of the students.
  • Collaborate with the staff, administration, and tutors to evaluate all programs used with EL students to determine their effectiveness.
  • Adequately complete, in a timely manner, all paperwork for the District and the State.
  • Model professionalism in all situations maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
  • Continually develop professional growth in areas related to EL.
