Human Resources Manager- Clinton, IA

This is a full time exempt position.

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department at the Corn Plant in Clinton, IA. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership to ensure positive employee and labor relations. You must operate at both the strategic and “hands-on” level, and serve as a key business partner and member of the plant leadership team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR leadership focusing on Company’s strategic direction, core values and achieving our HR Vision.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to management through the lifecycle of the employee including direct assistance in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management and termination processes while partnering with our centralized areas related to compensation, benefits, staffing and employee/labor relations.

  • Demonstrate understanding of business processes in order to add measurable value and contributions to financial performance.

  • Establish relationships with all employees to foster a more open and communicative environment.

  • Offer support and direction to HR coordinator, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.

  • In partnership with the Talent Center of Excellence, build learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal growth opportunities for employees.

  • Capture and analyze data and recommend processes to reduce attrition, absenteeism and other key HR metrics.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended standard methodologies; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Flexible, innovative and composed in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.

  • Ability to effectively manage conflict and positively craft outcomes that minimize risk and are acceptable to the business.

  • Knowledge of EEO and anti-discrimination laws.

  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite systems including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with applications and operations of HRIS software, such as Success Factors is helpful.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
