We are looking for a CAD Designer who will lead designing turnkey solutions for both the structural steel and control system/connectivity designs on cutting edge LED video displays. This is a key position that will work with operations teams, engineering partners, sales and marketing.

Position will create drawings and specs for steel structures and control systems of AV projects including:

• Designing connections between AV components, control systems and audio layouts.

• Structural steel connections to mount the screen to frame

Job Title: CAD Designer

Location: Des Moines, IA (onsite or hybrid)

What’s the Job?

• Create and lead new product designs and provide design enhancements on current products and custom field installs. This includes both the fixed install and mobile retail pillars.

• Collaborate with the operations and field team to ensure any needed design changes or enhancements are vetted to refine best practices and ensure continuous improvement occurs.

• Assist on structural engineering drawings to help create and manage all project engineering documents.

• Create spec sheets, shop and structural drawings for projects customized specifically to the job including details on:

• Mounting hardware

• Steel needs (fabrication)

• Signage

• Power/Data

• Control systems (NovaStar, Blackmagic, DynaCord, EV)

What’s Needed?

• +5 years of drafting experience including spec sheets, shop and structural drawings, and bill of materials

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Sketchup, Vectorworks or ConnectCAD a plus

• Bachelors or associate degree in related field

• Experience with audio/visual or sports venue management builds a plus

• Ability to generate rigging plans and submit stamp ready plans to professional engineer for review/stamp is preferred

• Project Management experience is preferred.
