The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.

The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo’s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.

The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.

Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

Data Management Solutions

The Data Management Solutions (DMS) organization within DMI provides holistic and consistent data management capabilities to Wells Fargo. This includes domain management, data quality monitoring, metadata management, data lake management, and master/reference data management.

The Position

Data Quality Implementation team within DMS is responsible for developing and deploying data quality monitoring practices, in alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy, leveraging industry-wide standards and internal company policies to enable sound decision making by improving data quality through consistent measurement and monitoring across strategic applications.

This role will report to the Data Management Manager, will be responsible for implementation of Data Quality for various applications in MRD domain. This role will also help with on-boarding new application for DQ monitoring and reporting on all Enterprise Data Quality Monitoring (eDQM) initiatives to ensure that the eDQM team is achieving its implementation objectives in accordance with established timelines.


  • Responsible for partnering with Data Management Manager in leading DQ rule design and implementation

  • Organizes and leads broad initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes

  • Updates / manages the documentation of end-to-end testing packages for DQ detective control implementation

  • Responsible for creation of object tags for DQ detective control promotion

  • Establishes recommendations for optimal approaches for resolving data quality issues

  • Ensures appropriate alignment of risk management processes to work executed within DQ detective implementation

  • Adheres to data governance standards and procedures

  • Supports application partners in utilization of tool sets in order to remediate data defects

  • Track, monitor and report on gaps created by the team. Work with team members for tracking, updating and closing of these gaps

  • Ensures adherence to enterprise data management policy and requirements

  • Provide support for documentation for EDG policy deliverables and audit requests

  • Track progress and communicate to the leadership team

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis demonstrated through work or military experience

  • 5+ years of experience in developing data quality rules

  • 3+ years of financial services experience

  • 3+ years of compliance and regulatory systems experience

  • 2+ years of SQL experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with End to End (E2E) testing

  • 3+ years of Agile experience

  • Knowledge of data models and data supply chain

Other Desired Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing data profiling

• 2+ year of proficiency with DQ tools such as Ab Initio DQE/Express>IT, Metadata Hub

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

• Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements

• Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

• Knowledge and understanding of banking: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures (

• Knowledge and understanding of data governance/data domain program development and implementation in a large organization across multiple business functions.

• Working understanding of data management processes, and interaction models between technology, business and data management functions.

• Ability to lead during times of ambiguity and change.

• Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs.
