Description:

This position has three primary functions:

  1. Grant Writing: MercyOne PHSO has interest in seeking grant funding which would provide opportunities for innovative work and piloting population health projects. The Grant Writing duties of this position will work to write, coordinate and complete applications for grants which would further the work of MercyOne PHSO.

  2. Project Management: The responsibilities of this position include managing population health projects, ensuring projects progress on-time, within budget and in compliance with laws and regulations governing the conduct of grant funded projects. Support development of projects contributing to the successful achievement of MercyOne’s goals and mission.

  3. Grant Coordination: This position will complete the reporting requirements and ensure compliance of grants held by MercyOne PSHO This includes coordination of federal and foundation awards previously received and in place.

Grant Writer: • Collaborates with PHSO leadership to identify key initiatives which could be supported through grant funding. • With input from MercyOne PHSO and Foundation personnel, develops and submits grant proposals and applications, including narrative, financial and supporting materials. Secures additional grant funding for the PSHO by enhancing external partnerships, identifies and disseminates grant opportunities to staff, and maintains knowledge of new and upcoming grants that align with the strategic goals of the PHSO.

Project Management: • Responsible for analyzing and managing research, grants and assigned projects from inception through implementation. • Integral in the design, implementation and on-going maintenance of research, grants and assigned projects • Coordinate activities of project with subject matter experts and project staff. • Monitor project progress based on established timeline and budget. • Facilitate open communication among project leaders, funders, staff, and MercyOne PHSO. • Evaluate effectiveness of project and recommend changes to implementation as needed.

Grant Coordinator: • Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete grant records, ensuring grant expenditures are properly supported and approved, and monitoring that all required reports are submitted on time and accurately. • Coordinates the routine collection and submittal of the time-and-effort sheets and reimbursement forms, per requirement of each grant. • Effectively communicates with internal and external teams both verbally and in writing. • Manages time effectively and prioritizes time in order to meet the practice, program and organizational goals

Bachelor’s degree required. Background in finance and/or accounting beneficial. • Two years’ experience in grants accounting and/or coordinating federally funded programs preferred. • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills required.
