Description Robert Half is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Clive, Iowa area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Responsibilities

• Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

• Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Adeptness in Construction Accounting

• Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Card Reconciliation

• Check Runs experience required

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

• General familiarity with Managing Budgets

• Deep understanding of Vendors

• Bank reconciliations experience highly desired

• Enter Vendor Invoices experience

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
