The Swine Specialist is a key member of a team responsible for the daily care and well-being of all animals in order to achieve production goals for the farm. Adhere to all Biosecurity policies and protocols to ensure the health of the animals. Assist with Production Responsibilities including but not limited to: Daily chores: Feed and water animals; proper ventilation; clean pens and crates. Identify, treat injuries and ailments following AMVC protocols for administration of vaccinations and medications. Follow SOP's for Breeding, Farrowing and Weaning. Maintain accurate records for animal identification, breed, farrow, treatment procedures. Abide by PQA, TQA and Animal Handling guidelines. General Maintenance of farm equipment and buildings. General Housekeeping duties including cleaning shower area, break room, floors, laundry etc. Uphold all safety requirements by wearing proper PPE and following Animal Handling techniques. Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task. Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy. Attendance is required. Responsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one's conduct.
