In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and mentor a team of scientists and engineers who conduct research into raw material production, synthesis development and attachment chemistry for the Tx Oligo business.

• Lead development, transfer, release, and post-release monitoring of processes used to manufacture new products to operations teams per ICH Q7 guidelines.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with members of R&D, core manufacturing, product managers, project managers, and other groups within IDT, including IDT senior leadership.

• Set strategy and planning for new process development, process improvements, and other processes following DBS best practices and framework.

• Other duties as assigned.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, or related science field plus 10 years research/industrial experience required.

• Minimum of five years of lab experience with organic chemistry, or similar field required.

• Deep working knowledge of Organic Chemistry and current trends in the field

• Broad understanding and experience with tools and processes used in organic synthesis and QC of oligonucleotides and their components.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Masters in a synthetic biology related field plus 8 years research experience/industrial or PhD in a synthetic biology related life science field plus 2 years research/industrial experience preferred.

• Previous industry, LIMS experience preferred.

• Proficiency in data analysis and statistics preferred.
