This Senior Project Engineer position is part of the NA Facilities Team located in Coralville and will be onsite. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Act as Project Leader, Program Leader, Lead Engineer, or similar technical leadership role in the execution of capital and non-capital projects in support of manufacturing activities, including project initiation phase, planning phase, execution phase, and evaluation phase development and execution. Developments and application of work breakdown structures, Gantt chart structures Project cost/budget development, tracking, and reporting.

  • Works collaboratively with Finance to develop project financial inputs, justifications and manage the project to adhere to the budget.

  • Work collaboratively with Process engineering and Maintenance teams to lead initiatives that improve equipment efficiency and implement programs throughout the facility. Assist EHS with Process Safety Management across entire facility

  • Generates project work scope definition, development, drafting, bid submission, bid evaluation, and contract management, particularly in the context of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contracting as well as General Contractor (GC) building activities.

  • Other duties as assigned

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, engineering technology, or other engineering discipline with a maintained PE license or technically equivalent field and eight or more years of demonstrated experience in project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and/or R&D.

  • At least 5 years experience management/coordination of building construction, process support equipment and/or process equipment fundamental design such as: Piping systems, fluid pumping & transfer, fluid temperature control.) Chill water systems, Airflow, temperature and humidity control, in a general Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) context. Other control or tempering processes. Along with working knowledge of common industrial and building codes. Process mapping, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Ishikawa Diagrams. Other systematic tools.

  • Prior experience in the drafting, execution, and/or evaluation of FDA (or similar) validation protocols, product validations, new product introduction, product commercialization, and/or similar endeavors.

  • 25% travel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70/National Electrical Code (NEC) particularly experience in installation of process/industrial equipment in classified hazardous locations. (optional) NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.(optional) Occupational Safety and Health Administration Codes (29 CFR 1910) applicable sections. (optional)

  • Proficiency in the use of the latest versions of the following software packages or equivalent: Microsoft Project (highly preferred), AutoCAD, any version (preferred), Allen Bradley RS 5000 (optional).

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
