IA WESTERN COMM COLLEGE Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness in COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa

This is a 10-Month position (August 1 through May 31)The Fitness Coordinator provides a wide variety of fitness and wellness opportunities for a diverse student body and employees, as a means of actively promoting healthy living and campus engagement. The Dr. John and Jean Marshall Wellness Center features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, a group exercise studio, basketball and volleyball courts, and a 90-yard indoor field turf.Required Qualifications:iBacheloris degree required.CurrentiCPR/AEDiand First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire).A minimum of two years of experience planning and facilitating campus fitness and wellness programming.Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.Experience effectively managing staff and students and ability to de-escalate stressful situationsAbility to engage the campus community in fitness and recreation activitiesPreferred Qualifications:iCertifications: NSCS,iNSCS-CPT,iNSCA-CSC, andiSCCCipreferredPhysical Demands:iThis position requires the ability to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time, ability to lift 50 pounds, including the ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and maneuver facilities including the use of stairwells.use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use a phone.
