  • Overnight shift receives an extra $1.50 per hour for any hours worked between 11p and 7a
  • This position is responsible for deep cleaning our casino and landside during the overnight hours

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Provides excellent customer service to internal and external guests. Greets others on property in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. Responds to reasonable guest requests or places guests in contact with appropriate person for assistance. Cleans restrooms including mirrors, sinks, counter tops, cigarette urns and toilets. Empties trash bins and picks up loose papers from floors, sinks, and counter tops as well as sweeping and mopping floors. Removes all trash to exterior trash points. May have to remove snow in order to access exterior trash locations. Replaces toilet tissue and refills paper towel dispensers. Must be familiar with and ensure safe and proper use of all equipment and chemicals. Cleans and polishes all furniture, marble, brass, brass floor plates, entrance door brass, and kick door brass plates. Cleans and dusts all lighting and lampshades. Vacuums carpeting, cleans windows, cleans window ledges, cleans team member dining room floors, and sanitizes all guest and team member areas. Sweeps, mops, buffs, dusts, and waxes floors. Adheres to standards and operating procedures as outlined in the Ameristar EVS Manual. Is compliant with uniformed appearance standards while on duty. Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and propriatary information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or by a guest. Must be willing to clean biohazards including body fluids

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Six months related experience preferred but not required Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments Must have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment Must be able to operate cleaning equipment such as extractors, auto scrubbers, buffers and overhead lifts. Adheres to standards and operating procedures as outlined in the Ameristar EVS Manual Able to effectively work independently and as part of a team Must have excellent interpersonal skills Must have excellent organizational skills Strong guest service skills Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local regulations Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from peers or superiors in order to accomplish a task or goal Ability to work at a fast pace with a sense of urgency Ability to complete training or certification required by the position Must be able to work overnights Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate with others regarding safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures. Ability to read and communicate. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum 8 hour shift. Be able to pull a 50 pound trash bag from trash can and push/pull a 300 pound. trash container to exterior trash point. Must be able to work on a scaffolding to scrub and dust the highest parts of the casino. Must be able to work from ladders. Single-use latex gloves or vinyl gloves or nitrite gloves provide protection for your hands are frequently used in this position. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Team member is exposed to an environment containing unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke. This is an environment that serves alcohol and although measures are in effect to mitigate intoxication, you may encounter intoxicated guests. This position requires work on the casino floor which has a constant level of noise and lighting which may include flashing and colored lights.
