Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our CPA firm based in COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa. The successful candidate will be a key member of our team, responsible for multiple tasks related to client service, business development, and leadership administration.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation, review, and tax planning for individual, partnership, corporation, and fiduciary tax returns.

• Undertake tax research, including income, SALT, fiduciary, and other.

• Plan, supervise and complete tax and financial statement engagements and client special projects.

• Manage client relationships and drive profitability of client engagements.

• Identify opportunities to provide additional services to current clients and lead implementation.

• Anticipate future client issues and needs, and assist clients in developing solutions.

• Cultivate relationships and referral networks in the community, and develop potential new clients and relationships.

• Act as a knowledge source and research resource for all staff.

• Coach, mentor and play a role in the development and training of staff.

• Evaluate performance of staff and senior accountants and provide feedback.

• Initiate and approve client billings.

• Assist in or lead firm initiatives and innovation opportunities.

• Client Relations Requirements • Possess experience in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Proficiency in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel required.

• Capable of performing Month End Close tasks.

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is necessary.

• Prior experience in Public Accounting and Public Accounting Tax is essential.

• Should have excellent Client Relations skills.

• Must have experience in a CPA firm or a similar industry.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must have a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a high-paced work environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
