Overview

CHI Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating room. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that surgical procedures run smoothly by preparing the operating room, arranging surgical equipment, and providing direct assistance during surgeries. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the highest quality patient care and positive surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus

  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by sterilizing equipment, arranging surgical instruments, and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.

  • Assist the surgical team by handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members during procedures.

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.

  • Ensure the proper functioning and availability of equipment such as suction machines, diagnostic equipment, and lights.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical assistants, to provide seamless patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures, supplies used, and patient information.

  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe operating environment.

  • Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.

  • Act as a resource and mentor for new Surgical Techs and students.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

  • Certification in Surgical Technology preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Pay Range

$23.98 - $34.78 /hour
