Overview

The Custodial Supervisor at Danville Community School District is responsible for overseeing the cleaning of all school district facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role includes supervising custodial staff, managing and completing cleaning schedules, and coordinating with other departments to support the district's overall operations and educational mission.
Qualifications
:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in custodial or facility maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role (preferred - not required)
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and facility appearance/functionality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in an educational setting or public facility.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in using email and record-keeping software.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of Custodial Staff:
- Train and supervise custodial staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to cleaning procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.
- Schedule and assign daily cleaning tasks and special projects to custodial staff.
Facility Maintenance and Cleaning:
Oversee and participate in the cleaning and maintenance of all district facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, gyms, and common areas.
Ensure that all areas are cleaned and sanitized according to district standards and public health guidelines.
