A secondary science teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various scientific disciplines to secondary students. Qualifications

:

  • Valid Iowa Teaching License required
  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred but not required)
  • Teaching certification/licensure in secondary science education
  • Strong content knowledge in multiple scientific disciplines
  • Experience teaching secondary-level science courses
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Passion for science education and a commitment to inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM fields

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Instruction:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in various scientific disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, physics, Earth science, and environmental science. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, laboratory experiments, demonstrations, discussions, and multimedia resources.
