Palmer College of Chiropractic is looking for an Administrative Assistant in our Admissions Department!
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative and program support in the administration of departmental or other functions.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Aid in the administration of departmental or other functions including organization/management of special programs/projects and the development and implementation of administrative procedures.
Maintain and oversee confidential files and administrative records; prepares and/or assists in the preparation of reports and related duties.
Coordinate committee and special meetings; record and transcribe meeting minutes; maintain meeting records and other materials.
Maintain applicable policy and procedure manuals.
Assign and monitor work of clerical staff and/or work study students, as applicable.
Perform various clerical duties including transcription, typing correspondence, receiving and screening phone calls, processing mail, scheduling appointments, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining filing systems, ordering and maintaining office supplies and other related duties.
Aid students, alumni, faculty, staff, patients, visitors, etc. as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to perform assigned duties with frequent interruptions;
Ability to maintain concentration for significant periods of time;
Ability to utilize personal computer, various software programs, other necessary equipment and general office equipment;
Ability to calculate complex numerical data;
Ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems;
Ability to communicate effectively; and
Ability to work various hours as job requires.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma; Associate degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; one-year clerical support experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted and temperature-controlled office setting.
Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
