Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in the Quad Cities and Surrounding Area. The role requires the application of various skills including Data Governance, Data Cleansing, Data Warehousing, and programming languages such as Python. The workplace is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will be part of a dedicated team handling various data-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems.

• Collaborate with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

• Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together.

• Clean, prepare and optimize data for consumption.

• Implement data networks and flow while working with a range of data tools.

• Develop and implement data pipelines for data collection, data transformation, and data storage.

• Use Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, Datastage ETL, and Databricks to effectively manage and manipulate large data sets.

• Implement effective strategies for data management.

• Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.

• Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

• Demonstrated expertise in Data Governance and Data Management

• Proficient in data cleansing and warehousing methodologies

• Familiar with Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, and Datastage ETL tools

• Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines

• Familiarity with Databricks and Python programming language

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of best practices related to data security and privacy

• Ability to work independently and in a team. Role is on-site 3-5 days a week.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
