Function: Quality Engineering
Title: Part Time Student - Quality Engineering - Davenport, IA - 47113
Position will handle the following responsibilities:
Assist Quality Engineers in helping to drive resolution on factory and field failure quality issues, including both proactive and reactive mistake proofing.
This will include, but may not be limited to:
Supporting CI200 (continuous improvement) by providing pre/post RPN scores and assisting with projects when needed.
Complete reactive process verification audits (PVAs) based on warranty claims caused by internal workmanship gaps and suggest/implement mistake proofing.
Complete proactive PVAs by conducting full audits of assembly line stations, documenting gaps and leading the activities to close identified gaps.
Reduce high RPN levels on newly scored PFMEAs where Quality is the responsible team by implementing mistake proofing.
Conduct JDV14.1 audits and follow up on gaps.
What It Takes
Ability to effectively work in a team environment with a wide array of wage and salary personnel
Strong communication/collaboration skills to effectively work with wage and salary personnel to identify process gaps and implement mistake proofing.
Multi-tasking and prioritization skills to deal with a wide variety of activities needing attention.
Efficient computer skills for dealing with a variety of programs necessary to complete tasks
Pursuing a four-year degree in a field of engineering. Engineering fields recommended include: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or other similar ABET accredited engineering degree
Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Graduation date of December 2019 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A strong candidate will also have
Experience with SAP
Working in a factory environment
Familiarity with off-highway construction and forestry equipment
Quality tools used for driving corrective actions for factory and field failures
