VERA FRENCH COMM MENTAL HEALTH CTR Program Manager - Community Based ACT Team in DAVENPORT, Iowa

The Program Manager on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teamdevelops, implements, and directs the Assertive Community Treatment Team program, a self-contained clinical team which assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Day-to-day supervision to direct service providers of program. The Program Manager guides the multidisciplinary ACT Team in the ACT Model and philosophy of care. The Program Manager further directs and supervises ACT staff activities, leads organizational, clinical, and service planning meetings and coordinates administrative functions
  • The Program Manager works in collaboration with the ACT psychiatric provider to provide clinical direction to staff.
  • Provides leadership in directing treatment services designed to reduce episodes of harmful outcomes such as use of emergency departments, medical and psychiatric inpatient admissions, arrests and incarceration for program clients.
  • Lead and attend agency and community meetings as assigned.
  • The Program Manager guides the team in using collaboration to deliver positive behavioral health, social and individual consumer outcomes such as consumer participation in education, competitive employment, and family and social relationships.
  • Oversee budgetary aspects of program in conjunction with fiscal department to ensure ongoing financial stability of program.
  • Monitor and coordinate client ratio expectations for Team.
  • Monitor accuracy and eligibility of client payer sources for billing/reimbursement. Tracks and completes prior authorizations as needed and signs of documents and receives payments.
  • ACT is field-based position and requires at least 80% of services to be provided to consumers in their homes, shelters, places of employment, vocational and education settings and other community settings.
  • Perform and document psychosocial interventions with clients, family members and others
  • Provide diagnostic assessments, individual and group interventions in collaboration with supervisors and/or other service providers

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Education:

Masters in Nursing, Social Work, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or Occupational Therapy, or BSN.

Skills and Experience:

  • Must possess strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
  • Supervisory and program management experience preferred.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses and be knowledgeable about the ACT model.

Requirements:

  • Evenings, weekends and occasional nights, early mornings are required to meet needs of clients.
  • Must be able to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, and be able to provide leadership in times of crisis.
  • Ability to be flexible in scheduling.
