RESIDENTIAL ADVISOR for the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center, a Residential Technical Training Center serving 212 youth, ages 16-24. Must be an effective facilitator and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Experience in working in a residential environment required. Paart-time position, including nights and weekends.
DUTIES
Supervises all student activities in the residential area.
Fosters a dormitory environment conducive to learning of self management, independent living, and community living skills.
Maintains a clean, orderly, safe, and comfortable dormitory environment for students assigned and supervises student daily housekeeping chores.
Conducts daily dorm meetings to schedule and plan required activities, permits an exchange of student views on dorm needs and concerns to reach resolution, and encourages leadership development.
Provides individual and group guidance on an informal and/or structured basis in close coordination with appropriate counseling staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent and experience working in a residential setting.
Valid Driver's License required. Associate degree preferred.
