Description:

Responsible for ensuring compliance of the pharmacy 340B program. Works closely with pharmacy staff, software companies, wholesalers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.Participates in the development and ongoing maintenance of program policies and procedures.

Maintains required 340B program records. Performs and/or coordinates audits to ensure compliance with policy and/or regulatory requirements. Support business development activities.

POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for ensuring compliance of the pharmacy 340B program. Works closely with pharmacy staff, software companies, wholesalers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Participates in the development and ongoing maintenance of program policies and procedures. Maintains required 340B program records. Performs and/or coordinates audits to ensure compliance with policy and/or regulatory requirements. Support business development activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Demonstrates data-driven approach for project prioritization and strategies. 4. Develops resource utilization strategies to improve organizational performance. Strategies reflect the changing societal and health care environments and the economic climate. 5. Advocates for clinical and business innovations that address needs, policy changes, workforce management, 340B education which align with the organizational strategy and national priorities. 6. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. 7. Develops, implements, and modifies policies and procedures according to all applicable guidelines/regulations. 8. Performs routine and thorough analysis of 340B program processes/information for: a. Quarterly price changes: e.g. perform a thorough review of the new 340B pricing list searching for costly changes to be detected quickly and addresses b. Contract price changes. c. WAC Purchasing d. Penny buys e. Accumulation utilization f. Negative accumulation monitoring. g. Clinic Administered drugs h. Inventory Valuation i. Un-related Business Income (UBI) 9. Works with Medication Assistance Program Coordinators (e.g. Rx CBO or Rural Outreach staff, Medication Access Coordinators) and other financial assistance groups to help mitigate cost as a barrier to medication compliance. 10. Serves as liaison to Finance providing 340B program information including utilization, savings, processes, databases, exceptions/discrepancies, and improvement actions. 11. Coordinates and prepares operating and capital plans and provides monthly variance analysis for Trinity health’s Pharmacy business line with a focus on the 340B program. 12. Assists with quality control and TPA maintenance. 13. Plans, conducts, and reviews monthly self-audits of the hospital-based outpatient 340B program to ensure compliance with the 340B program policies and procedures. Immediately reports any discrepancies/deviations to the 340B Regional Manager. 14. Creates and updates policies and procedures on 340B processes and regulatory changes. 15. Performs other responsibilities as requested by supervisor, manager, or department head.
