Principal Accountant - Boutique Finance Team in Des Moines, Iowa
Principal is currently recruiting a motivated individual to fill an Accountant role on the Boutique Finance Team within Principal Global Investors.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
Perform a variety of financial reporting and analysis, explaining the drivers of current trends, variances from historical results and current expectations.
Produce monthly forecasts using sound assumptions and communicating such to senior management.
Provide oversight and/or execution of month-end accounting processes, processing dividends, transfers, reconciliations and journal entries.
A variety of other project work to improve existing controls and processes and execute on general initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent required
3+ years of relevant work experience is required
CPA or similar certification preferred
Strong analytical/problem solving, technical, organizational, and project management skills
Ability to handle and prioritize several projects at the same time
Strong verbal and written communication skills
The ability to adapt to a changing environment
