Job DetailsJob LocationDes Moines Branch - Des Moines, IAOverview/Function: A representative of the Finance team, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely payment of goods and services. Major Responsibilities:Processing invoices, requests, tax payments, and other expenditures, entering related information into software programs to allow for accurate tracking for budgeting.Regularly work with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely payments.Prepare weekly and quarterly A/P report.Audit, reconcile and balance financial records.May interface with tax authorities, commercial banks or customers, etc. as needed.Create and monitor accruals on a regular basis.Monitor trends and changes in accounting activityConduct research on discrepancies in accounts and/or reports.Other related duties as required and assigned. Experience and Qualifications:High School degree, or GED. Associates degree is preferred.2-3 years of A/P experience.General knowledge of accounting and understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices. Customer-focused with the ability to positively and effectively interact with customers is essential.Good verbal and written communication skills is required. Strong problem-resolution and analytical thinking skills. Excellent team-player; Strong ability to effectively interact with multiple departments.Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.Good computer skills (MS Office) and 10-key skills is needed.Strong organization and multi-task skills is required. Prior ERP experience is required. Previously experience with Great Plains (GP) and Concur Invoice would be beneficial.Consistent, regular attendance is an essential job function.Additional:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, filing is required. This requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend as needed. The ability to climb stairs is also needed.
