Drake University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor position to teach our JMC 117 Strategic Media Planning class online on Tuesday and Thursday, 2-3:15 p.m. The course is an upper-level undergraduate course in the advertising major and is taken by marketing majors as an elective. This course covers advanced topics of media planning and engages students in critically answering the question, “What is the best way for me to advertise?” Students will advance their experience with media selection decisions by analyzing audience metrics and competitive media strategies/tactics to create media plans using simulation software. Successful candidate must have earned a bachelor’s degree and have significant experience as a communications professional working in a field related to the course content. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is preferred.
Essential job functions include being able to teach a web-instructed course on current professional media planning practice.
