Job Description

The ESSA Administrative Consultant will be an integral member of the Bureau of School Improvement.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a leader on the school improvement team supporting consultants who are serving ESSA identified schools, both Comprehensive (CSI) and Targeted (TSI). Work in collaboration with Department and AEA staff to coordinate and oversee service to CSI and TSI schools.

  • Guide teams at each stage of support for the E-CSI, CSI, E-TSI, and TSI, creating consistency across processes while promoting differentiated support. Establish meeting schedules. Coordinate internal collaboration / professional learning.

  • Attend site visits and provide ongoing support for implementation.

  • Assist with analysis of implementation data. Organize trainings; locations, providers, contracts, etc. Design and facilitate PLC academies for principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches and curriculum directors.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the state and federal policy and the impact of proposed legislation on the bureaus and the programs it oversees.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday

  • Experience in developing and delivering professional learning.

  • Experience in leading and/or support ESSA CSI and/or TSI school(s).

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

1) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

2) A combination of a total of nine years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work may substitute for one year of full-time experience.

3) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public or business administration, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.

4) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as an Education Program Consultant.
