Lutheran Services in Iowa Child Care Associate in Des Moines, Iowa
LSI seeks an occasional part-time Child Care Associate for the Immigrant and Refugee Community Services program in Des Moines. Hours will be during the afternoon, evening, or weekend.
What You'll Do
Provide on-site child care services to clients who are attending training classes. Observe and monitor the needs of children ages 0-10 years for 1-2 hour blocks of time. Organize and engage children in age appropriate activities while ensuring their safety and well being. Assist in preparing snacks and beverages for children and regulate rest periods. Notify and update child guardians of any concerns or issues as they arise. Maintain a safe and healthy environment. This position will be scheduled on an as needed basis to meet client needs, hours and shifts will vary.
What You'll Need
High school diploma/GED and 1 year of experience in child care. Will consider an accredited training certificate in Iowa's Essentials Child Care Preservice in lieu of education requirement. Must be 18 years of age or older with ability to effectively communicate in English. Additional language skills preferred, but not required.
