Principal Financial Group Client Onboarding Manager-NQ in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Client Onboarding Manager to join our Non-Qualified team. In this role, you’ll get the opportunity to showcase your excellent client facing skills with a department that continues to grow and provide exciting possibilities. As a Client Onboarding Manager, you will coordinate all aspects of a multi-process transition for our Non-Qualified clients while maintaining overall responsibility and integrity for the transition.

  • Apply project management methodology, serve as the main point of contact for clients/advisor interaction through the onboarding process.

  • Take ownership for developing the onboarding plan and seeing it to completion including implementing the plan design and financing strategies of an assigned group of NQ clients.

  • Develop relationships and partner with all areas of RIS Admin, RIS Field Service, Life Distribution, RIS Distribution, NQ Admin, NQ Consulting and other internal parties to orchestrate a successful onboarding and start to the ongoing relationship.

  • Use creativity, problem solving and in-depth product knowledge to arrive at solutions, ensure profitability and retain assets. Negotiate solutions to meet both customers' and other stakeholder goals.

  • Demonstrate expertise and professionalism in our interactions, internal and external. Possess a solid understanding of our competition and the retirement industry.

  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 4+ years of related experience required.

  • FINRA 6 and SIE will be required within first 6 months of employment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills required.

  • Accurate, organized, able to meet deadlines, and follow-through on tasks and campaigns.

  • Able to build and maintain positive relationships within the organization.

  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Demonstrate ability to build strong relationships and trust with clients and partners.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of plan and contract documents, manuals, and procedures.

  • Advanced business unit knowledge and technical skills including products and regulations.

  • Strong command of financing concepts, expense structures, and administrative platform.

  • Able to balance working independently with working in a team environment.

  • Overnight travel may be expected to conduct customer meetings.

  • May be asked to present on behalf of sales support.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$51000 - $98400 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
