Job Description
Community Based Corrections District 5 is seeking a Community Corrections Program Monitor
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Schedule will be determined by supervisor to meet the needs of maintaining the efficiency of governmental operations
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Makes client referrals, and monitors client attendance, progress and follow through. Plans, organizes, schedules, and implements activities and processes for justice-involved individuals in community based corrections district. Serves crime survivors through providing information and resources, making necessary notifications, and safety planning.
Documents programming, treatment and assessment information related to justice-involved individuals in community-based corrections timely and accurately and adheres to department policy and Iowa Code as they relate to confidentiality of records.
Facilitates educational, cognitive behavioral, or other evidence-based groups as identified by the needs of the judicial district.
Interacts with justice-involved individuals utilizing core correctional practices, cognitive-behavioral strategies, social learning principles and motivational interviewing to assist them in the development of skills and facilitate behavior change.
Embraces the process of continuous quality improvement strategies through effective implementation practices, feedback and ongoing willingness to learn and improve.
Generates reports and conducts presentations on relevant program monitoring and outcomes data through the use of accurate ICON data documentation and statistical tabulations to show measurable outcomes of increased programming and reduced recidivism.
Provides information to agency administrators and others for managing and developing program services, determining operation effectiveness, providing appropriate information to funding sources and meeting public information needs.
Assists in policy and procedure development to ensure justice-involved individuals are promptly screened and admitted into evidence-based cognitive interventions and educational programs.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in any field, and experience equal to one year of full-time work in human services, criminal justice, or corrections.
A total of three years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as a Probation/Parole Officer 1 or Residential Officer Senior.
