Job Brief

The Consumer Services Representative (CSR) acts as the customer representative of the bank and assists customers with financial transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers and check cashing.

Job Summary:

Additional duties for this position include counting cash, answering phones, processing payments, and resolving customer issues. An in-depth understanding of the bank’s systems and policies is required. Must be able to work every other Saturday morning and be flexible regarding hours. Hours may vary between 7:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. This is a part time position averaging 35 hours per week. At Bankers Trust, all benefits are available to full-time and part-time employees averaging more than 20 hours per week.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions and requests, including but not limited to: accepting deposits, processing loan payments, cashing checks, issuing cashier's checks, redeeming savings bonds, allowing access to safe deposit boxes, responding to basic inquiries and scanning transactions using branch capture

  • Balance cash drawer often throughout the day and keep within established cash limit

  • Balance branch statements, including but not limited to: teller statements, branch adjustments, analysis review, and over & short

  • Assist team members in allocating and coordinating workflow, training new employees and answering co-workers questions

  • Follow the Customer Service Excellence Agreement and Sales Ethics Roadmap

  • Maintenance addresses, phone numbers and emails, paying close attention to detail

  • Identify needs and utilize product knowledge to recommend solutions

  • Develop relationships to strengthen cross-sell opportunities within the organization to achieve bank wide referral goals

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to emails promptly

  • Assist customers with digital banking questions

  • Maintain customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential

  • Comply with all department, company, security and regulatory policies and procedures: participate in all dual-control functions, assist with audits, open and close vaults, participate in required training courses and testing

  • Other duties as assigned

    Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of bank deposit products and policies is preferred

  • Basic knowledge of bank loan, trust and investment products is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills

    Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Digital banking knowledge to assist with mobile and internet banking inquiries

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Ability to make quick decisions regarding transactions, weighing service satisfaction with Bank risk

  • Ability to be cohesive and work in a team environment; flexible regarding scheduling

  • Ability to comprehend and understand how this role relates to various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bailey Act, Regulation E

  • Ability to work independently and utilize electronic resources

  • Ability to follow precise directions and learn banking equipment and software programs quickly
