What You'll Do

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, timely, and sound legal advice and recommendations to business unit clients and executives on complex matters with significant risk to business activities and operations. This may include conducting legal research, consulting with outside counsel, drafting legal documents, and providing guidance to paraprofessional and support staff.

  • Apply your in-depth understanding of one or more legal specialties, alongside your grasp of our goals and objectives, to successfully tackle legal matters.

  • Act as an informal leader, providing direction to less experienced attorneys and paralegal staff, offering performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Represent the legal department on assigned committees, showcasing your expertise and contributing to important decision-making processes.

  • Take on other job-related duties or special projects as assigned, showcasing your versatility and ability to contribute beyond your core responsibilities.

Who You Are

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:

  • JD with 8+ years of experience as an attorney at a law firm and/or financial services firm involving asset management regulatory matters.

  • Experience with US and international regulations regarding investment advisers and investment funds, including private investment structures and private funds, is strongly preferred, with particular emphasis on the Investment Advisers Act and the Investment Company Act

  • Admitted to practice in the state of employment within twelve months of hire.

  • In-depth knowledge of the relevant area of law and its practical application.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and independent.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey complex legal concepts and interact professionally with others.

  • Proven ability to apply legal knowledge to make sound judgments and decisions.

  • Preferred informal leadership experience.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$153000 - $207000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
