Cybersecurity Specialist

Key Role:

Support the assessment and authorization (A&A) of new and existing client information systems. Organize and create A&A documentation, including accounting for IA controls in the risk management framework (RMF) process, such as documentation for the system security plan, functional architecture, backup plan, hardware and software list, change management process, system POAM, and additional documentation, as needed. Coordinate with the appropriate authorization official’s (AO) office personnel to explain how the client system functions and outline its unique operational environment. Perform security scans, work with IT to mitigate issues, and create reports for AO approval, as needed. Ensure all control information is documented in the eMASS system per AO office requirements. Work with other team members to support maintaining a patch management system, including deploying and updating an anti-virus, monitoring and configuring an intrusion detection system (IDS), and running vulnerability scanners and further requirements, as addressed through the RMF A&A processes.

Basic Qualifications

-3+ years of experience with information security

-Knowledge of A&A documentation

-Top Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree

-DoD 8570.1 IAM-Level III Certification, including CISSP, CISM, and GSLC
