Principal Digital Marketing Strategist-Lead in Des Moines, Iowa

We are seeking a Digital Strategist and Developer who can crush coding projects. Projects and priorities can rapidly change and we’re looking for someone who can adapt to new directions and who can independently seek out ways to improve the functionality for our team and customers across platforms. Here are a few additional examples of things you'll do when you join our team:

  • Manage content for Principal's online properties, including designing layouts with UX designers and maintaining existing content. Provide input on the digital strategy and goals for the online properties, mobile apps, e-mail marketing, social media programs and digital marketing campaigns. Responsibilities will also include interaction with IT, product marketing, and compliance groups to create content that supports the overall digital strategy.

  • Work with a variety of front-end development languages and frameworks to write HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.

  • Guide the development of templated libraries or design systems in order to ensure consistent and easily reusable styles.

  • Convert comps into web experiences that are scalable, accessible, and render effectively across multiple browsers, operating systems, and device types.

  • Write JavaScript or utilize a variety of libraries to power animations, interactions, validations, or enhance the user experience across marketing platforms.

  • Consult with stakeholders to build, recommend, and implement the best possible digital fulfillment solutions for the company and its customers. Requires active participation on agile product teams.

  • Maintain ongoing familiarity of competitor and industry trends and digital innovations; provide recommendations on how to differentiate our content from competitors; recommends new strategies/ technologies as appropriate and implements in project work.

  • Analyze, research, and make recommendations regarding content needs on digital projects. Propose UI/UX enhancements and refinements to improve web / digital functionality for the user.

  • Continuously collaborate with a diverse organization to understand the goals, needs, and priorities of our users.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in marketing or business related field, plus at least 6+ years related experience required in marketing or digital marketing capacity

  • Excellent computer skills, along with interactive design (ex: presentation frameworks, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5), content management systems (ex IBM WCM / portal, Drupal, Sharepoint), usability and accessibility required

Successful candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent planning/organizational, problem solving, presentation, and analytical skills required

  • Strong decision-making skills required

  • Consultation experience

  • Requires strong oral, written and listening skills

  • Excellent detail and time management skills required

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required

Additional experience strongly preferred:

  • Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) a plus

  • Data analytics experience with GA360/DataStudio

  • Design and prototyping skills including Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping tools
