This role leads the group responsible for the Digital Banking domain capabilities for Wells Fargo. This group is responsible for shaping and expanding the engineering framework including requirements for performance, security, and reliability.
This group partners closely with product teams, UI teams, DevOps and SRE to develop and drive the engineering roadmap for scaling efficiently and safely deploying solutions across Digital Banking customer journeys for retail customers. Designing and executing a framework strategy via a high degree of reuse is key to ensuring fast time to market and consistency of experience.
Technical leadership responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing a multiyear technology strategy supporting full range of technologies in the web and mobile experience spaces
Running a world class Engineering team, singularly focused on customer success through conceptualization and build out of cutting-edge solutions that help amplify the outcomes
Engaging effectively & leveraging services provided by the Enterprise Chief Technology Office, Technology Infrastructure, Information Cyber Security Services
Providing senior technology perspective on industry trends, competitive landscape and market/regulatory changes leveraging industry contacts, vendors, and strategic technology partner relationships
Demonstrating business value by collaborating closely with product groups across the enterprise in development solution roadmaps
Establishing and maintaining a profile as a senior technology leader both inside and outside the firm
Serving as a role model demonstrating strong commitment to diversity & inclusion and Wells Fargo’s culture and core values
10+ years of software engineering experience
8+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
8+ years of experience with managing software development projects through complete release cycles
8+ years of leadership and people management experience in a large-scale technology environment
A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering
8+ years of experience with Agile practices
5+ years of experience with systems architecture and design
5+ years of experience with modern software engineering technologies and tool sets
3+ years of managing a 100+ FTE engineering organization
Other Desired Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in developing customer experience frameworks at scale across a wide variety of technologies
Strong track record of building resilient and highly secure experiences with a high degree of reuse
Experience building end to end solutions with ability to engage in customer experience, API development, product feature development and operational capabilities
Experience working in a scaled Agile environment
5+ years of leadership experience managing a complex technology organization of large scale including senior managers, managers, individual contributors and vendor resources across multiple global locations
Demonstrated prior experiences in effective engagement with operating & management committee executives, and external stakeholders
Strong relevant prior experiences in effective management of technology financials and risk
Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Wells Fargo’s size, scale and complexity
Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of technology efforts across several major lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level
Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global technology environment
Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
