At EFCO, we believe in helping those responsible for the construction of the world's concrete structures with a safe, reliable, and cost efficient concrete formwork solution. We do this by engineering, designing, manufacturing, supplying and field servicing formwork and elevated slab shoring systems for concrete construction.

We are seeking a qualified Human Resources Director in our Des Moines, Iowa corporate office.

Duties include:

  • Manages all aspects of the employee relations function. Develops, recommends and implements organization-wide employee relation practices. Takes appropriate action to address, resolve and document issues.

  • Creates and manages, processes for leadership development (leadership training, interview tools, teambuilding exercises, etc.).

  • Leads and conducts appropriate retention programs such as Succession Planning, leadership training and development planning. Creates systems to track employee retention, such as monthly turnover reporting, exit interviews, and employee surveys. Produces other reporting as needed.

  • Leverages organization data to propose and support company culture initiatives.

  • Manages all aspects of the salary and performance management process. Guarantees tracking is completed and prepared for senior managers. Ensures review scores correspond with pay adjustment recommendations. Oversees administration and approves performance and salary review process.

  • Leads biennially wage survey, analyze data, and made recommendations to adjust salaries, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness. Develops and coordinates compensation management training. Maintains salary ranges and position range sheets in appropriate systems. Writes job descriptions and prices positions, as needed.

  • Oversees recruitment process for sales offices and corporate departments. Develops strategies and reporting as needed. Approves all new hire offer letters. Develops aids for hiring managers.

  • Oversees benefit administration. Leads annual renewal process and plays a key role in benefit plan selection and market analysis. Delivers annual benefit presentations. Serves as the main contact for carrier plan changes to disability, medical, dental and life and accident. Ensures that flex-time policy, tuition assistance program, and other benefit programs run effectively.

  • Oversees immigration processing for EFCO Corp. employees. Provides overall direction and priority of needs. Works directly with legal counsel to ensure processing is timely. Ensures tracking and documentation is complete.

  • Leads union contract negotiation and labor relations activities.

  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required including but not limited to proposing, publishing, and administering personnel policies.

    Qualifications:

  • College degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Public Administration or equivalent, plus minimum 3-5 years' experience in human resources management or related field.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, leadership, problem solving, detail oriented, planning and organizational, and PC skills are required.

  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification, preferred.

  • Must have ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with managers and team members.

  • Union contract negotiation experience, preferred.

  • Knowledge of construction background, a plus.

  • Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Limited travel required (10%).
