The Iowa Department of Public Safety's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is seeking aWord Processor 3within the Transcription Unit.
The Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) provides investigative support and expertise to law enforcement within Iowa. The DCI conducts and coordinates complex criminal investigations with local law enforcement agencies and is the primary criminal investigative and enforcement agency for providing regulatory support at state-licensed casinos.

Join the support operations team that compiles case reports for use in court and other investigative matters.

Position requires passing a thorough criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
NOTE:This is not a remote position.The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., at DPS headquarters in downtown Des Moines.

768 Word Processing:
6 months experience using standard word processing software to produce final draft correspondence, reports, and other documents without assistance.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) All of the following (a and b): a. Ability to type at least 40 WPM NET,*demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination authorized by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Enterprise; and
b. Two years of full-time experience in word processing functions such as: text editing and formatting, document storage and retrieval, and document merging experience.
2) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Word Processor 2.

Gross number of words typed in a five minute timed test
Number of errors
Net words per minute (one point deduction for each error)
Your name and date must be on the document submitted to this office.
And it must be signed off by a witness or another person not just from the typing website's electronic signature.
