Principal Investment Analyst - Capital Markets in Des Moines, Iowa
As an Investment Analyst for the Capital Markets team for the Commercial Real Estate Private Equity Real Estate group, you’ll provide analytical support in the area of commercial real estate financing transaction analysis and execution. Success in this position requires the ability to make effective decisions to achieve results without close supervision in a team environment.
How you’ll spend your time:
Work with a team to provide analytical support for evaluating and sourcing financing investment opportunities with internal and external lending partcipants. Assist senior team members with the preparation of necessary supporting documentation.
Work with standardized investment reporting tools including discounted cash flow models.
Develop an understanding of products, programs and clients’ needs through available training programs and involvement in on-going financing and servicing activities.
Prepare financing packages, respond to client and lender questions, and develop written investment committee memos for new investment opportunities presented to senior real estate leaders and managing directors.
Effectively manage and coordinate time and responsibilities.
Work with internal acquisitions, asset management and portfolio management teams to assist the team in sourcing the financing opportunities, negotiating documents and closing financing transactions.
Utilize research databases to gather competitive intelligence, compare and position commercial real estate debt investments.
Build relationships with clients or end users to support marketing efforts.
Work with investment team and client portfolio managers to respond to client requests, including monthly reporting and investment commentary.
Develop an understanding of products, programs, and clients needs through available training programs and involvement in on-going investment activities.
Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
We’re looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preference for degrees in finance, engineering, real estate or another related field).
Real Estate experience preferred (including full-time or internship experience), but not required.
Working knowledge of valuation modeling techniques and valuation software products.
Strong quantitative financial background and statistics including an understanding of basic finance concepts such as time value of money
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-moving environment while managing multiple requests to strict deadlines.
Organize and maintain client relationship management records
May include minimal travel to meet clients and/or inspect properties.
Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above and progress towards MBA.
Previous experience with Argus is helpful.
Success in this position requires the ability to make effective decisions, achieve results without close supervision and in a team environment, and the ability to read, interpret, and analyze loan documents. Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment while managing multiple priorities is essential.
This role offers the ability for in-office and hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
This role will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters is located in Des Moines, IA.
