This role partners with the investment management team, business segments, and the enterprise risk management function to influence asset and liability management (ALM) with emphasis on derivative risk, credit risk, market risk, real estate risk, and liquidity risk.Additional Responsibilities Include:Enable risk astute culture, strategies and decision making through effectively communicating enterprise risk implications to key stakeholders, identifying solutions, facilitating risk mitigation decisions, and providing risk consultingPerform other job-related duties or special projects as required.Provide independent assessment of global enterprise risk exposures and key controls, to include developing and evaluating investment portfolio credit risk indicators based on predictive portfolio analytics and external environment risk assessment. Identify, monitor and evaluate sources of tail risk for market, credit, and liquidity risks through stress testing and scenario analysis, and establish appropriate controls.Responsible for derivatives risk and control assessment, compliance with derivative use guidelines, and influencing risk mitigation. Responsible for variability and stress analysis of the derivatives portfolio with respect to earnings, capital, counterparty exposure and collateral, communicating risk drivers, and establishing control framework.Responsible for governance of global enterprise derivative use, formulating risk management policy and risk appetites, and leading the PFG Derivatives Oversight Committee. Responsible for partnering with Principal International financial risk management leadership to provide governance around derivative use and the management of credit, market, and liquidity risk.Responsible for quantifying credit risk and related best estimate and stressed (capital) factors for use in pricing and investment portfolio construction. Influence the investment portfolio construction process with respect to appropriate risk considerations and limits. Evaluate enterprise market risk (interest rate, foreign exchange, equity, real estate), formulate risk management policy and limits, and monitor compliance. Ensure liquidity risk management considers investment and derivative portfolio risks under stress conditions (derivatives collateral, credit losses, etc.).Support board, risk committee, regulatory and rating agency risk reporting and act as Principal liaison with regulators and rating agencies with respect to these risk functions. Maintain knowledge of industry practices in investment risk oversight through industry networking.Qualifications:Bachelor degree or equivalent education10+ years expertise in enterprise risk management with deep insight into investment risk management and oversight, including stress testing and quantification of credit, market, and liquidity risk.Strong derivatives knowledge, including instruments, risk modeling and valuation, controls, and accounting required. Strong investment knowledge across all asset classes (fixed income, commercial mortgages and real estate) with emphasis on credit risk drivers required.Strong liability sensitivity knowledge (duration, convexity, liquidity, GAAP/SAP impact on variou
