Trinity Health Lead Vascular Tech Ultrasound in DES MOINES, Iowa

Shift: Monday-Friday varied day hours

*This position is eligible for relocation and housing stipend depending on your location*

Responsibilities:

  • Assists staff with difficult exams and answers questions related to Vascular exams.

  • Demonstrates expertise in operating all vascular testing equipment.

  • Oversees service and maintenance of vascular equipment. - Involved in demonstrations of new equipment and interacts with sales representatives regarding the demonstration and sale of vascular equipment.

  • Coordinates vascular presentations for department education meetings.

  • Remains current on vascular testing issues and technology and disseminates information to the staff as needed.

  • Prioritizes, schedules, and assigns duties of sonographers, students, and patient transporters. Monitors training of new members of the vascular testing staff. Mentor to new employees.

  • Counsels and monitors performance of staff, provides feedback to Manager on performance appraisals, and promotes staff development.

  • Conducts interviews for prospective employees and works with the Human Resource Department in recruiting/hiring new personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound or Vascular Technology training program that includes verified didactic and supervised clinical experience in ultrasound testing.

  • Registered Vascular Sonographer and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Sonographers. Maintain active registry.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

  • 4 years' experience as a Vascular Technologist.
