This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks to fill aLegal Secretaryposition in the office’s Consumer Protection Division.
This position will answer calls and emails from Iowans, direct the public to the appropriate resources in the Attorney General’s office or elsewhere, handle complaint openings within the Consumer Protection Division, and perform certain office secretarial duties.
The Attorney General and the Consumer Protection Division are dedicated to helping Iowans. A successful candidate will be comfortable speaking on the phone with Iowans, be friendly and courteous, have familiarity with Microsoft Office, and be passionate about public service.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
One year of legal secretarial experience;
OR
satisfactory completion of post high school course work in an accredited legal secretarial, or closely related curriculum;
OR
one year of experience in the Attorney General's Office as a Secretary/Receptionist with training in legal secretarial skills.

All positions require the ability to type accurately at prescribed standards as evidenced by passing a typing performance test.
