What you will do
Coordinate daily truck dispatch schedules, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and pick-up of materials.
Support compliance with DOT regulations and driver hour limits.
Ensure transportation options adhere to Last Material Hauled (LMH) protocols and Antibiotic Free (ABF) practices.
Identify and manage backhaul opportunities to optimize loaded miles.
Accurately administer and maintain logistics data across various systems.
Provide on-call support during weekday evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Develop and maintain initiatives aimed at reducing demurrage costs.
Support biosecurity initiatives by training third-party contractors (TPC) on expectations, managing infractions, and collaborating with the Quality Control department.
Track fleet updates in Samsara & Fleetio to monitor repairs, maintenance, inspections, registrations, mileage, and locations.
Oversee daily trailer check-in/check-out processes, audits, and accurate accounting of demurrage.
Maintain overall yard efficiency, including record-keeping for damages and necessary repairs for the fleet.
Manage the rail process, including tracking rail cars, handling demurrage, billing, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with Safe Feed/Safe Food policies to maintain Feed Safety and Food Safety.
Uphold company values in daily work interactions and responsibilities.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
3-5 years’ experience in logistics/routing/dispatch or similar role
3-5 years’ experience in the full office suite
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
