Job Purpose:

The logistics department plays a crucial role in optimizing the utilization of our extensive equipment lease pool, stocking warehouses in alignment with business demands, and devising cost-effective shipment methods between facilities and customer job sites.

The Logistics Manager oversees and directs the logistics team, managing the efficient allocation, substitution, manufacturing, warehousing, transfer, and shipping of EFCO's equipment lease pool. They conduct research, develop, and formalize strategic operational plans to enhance performance metrics. Additionally, they identify growth opportunities and devise strategies for improvement. As the primary point of contact, they manage corporate intercompany distribution of inventory.

Essential Functions:

  • Equipment Allocations

  • Forge a strong collaboration with District Teams (DM, DE & TM) to uphold the integrity of equipment allocation procedures.

  • Closely monitor equipment lists to track progress towards completion, utilizing engineering E-List updates and key milestones. Prioritize meeting critical shipping windows of 2 weeks, 1 week, and 3 days to ensure timely delivery and optimize efficiency at the shipping facilities.

  • Manage equipment allocations to ensure that warehouse stock inventories are adequately stocked to support local districts.

  • Inventory Management

  • Ensure that warehouses are consistently supplied with everyday essentials based on local sales management directives.

  • Continuously monitor and regulate regional inventories to achieve a strategic balance, minimizing lead times, reducing the need for long-distance shipments, and mitigating excess freight expenses.

  • Set optimal minimum and maximum inventory thresholds for individual items, considering both overall demand trends and regional requirements, to ensure efficient stock management. Evaluate historical equipment usage data to make informed decisions on whether to invest in new equipment or relocate existing leased pool assets for maximum efficiency.

  • Optimize equipment allocations to enhance truck load efficiency, reduce freight costs, and maintain optimal inventory balance.

  • Work closely with Sr. Sales Management on forecasting future equipment needs (build new equipment, utilize inventory on lease).

  • General

  • Develop and lead a team of motivated individuals capable of fostering effective collaboration with remote districts to uphold integrity in EFCO's equipment allocation and Sales Cycle Control processes.

  • Work closely with Senior Sales Management to develop and maintain an efficient equipment manufacturing reservation process.

  • Manage carrier cost negotiation, 3PL negotiations, and parcel contracts.

  • Develop and implement processes aimed at maximizing asset utilization and revenue while minimizing costs.

  • Streamline administrative processes to reduce manual inputs and expedite freight invoicing and payments.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations governing the transportation of goods.

  • Direct the hiring, compensation, development, and training efforts to cultivate a proficient and highly engaged logistics team.

  • Perform additional job-related responsibilities and special projects as directed.

    Requirements:

    College degree or equivalent experience with a minimum 2 year(s) direct relevant functional experience required, plus 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution or Logistics field.

    Must be able to build relationships effectively with all personnel.

    Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, organizational, and PC skills are required.

    Ability to plan in detail and consistently meet tight timelines.

    Must be a creative thinker with the ability to resolve problems quickly.

    Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate solid negotiating skills.

    Some travel required (<10%).
