Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

As a Machinist, you will be focused on machining gears, pulleys, gauges, threaded products, and valves for a wide range of customers, with a significant number in the Ag sector. Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating CNC machines within our shop environment. You will be working with lathe live tooling machines, twin spindle with a bar feeder, and soon, a Swiss Lathe. Our focus is on high volume production for our customers, with minimal custom or low piece work. While editing programming would be a plus, at minimum, you should understand code to set up the CNC.

Hard Skills

• Machining gears, pulleys, gauges, threaded products, and valves

• Setting up and operating CNC machines

• Working with lathe live tooling machines, twin spindle with a bar feeder

• Understanding code to set up the CNC

Soft Skills

• Ability to adapt to a high volume production environment

• Willingness to contribute to a team in a smaller shop setting

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa.

Work Environment

You will work Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days on the first shift. Exact hours will be provided. Our shop is a small custom shop with around 10-11 people across two shifts. We are a growing company, so expect significant organizational changes in the coming months. We maintain a no-nonsense environment where the focus is on getting the work done.
