FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK Mortgage Product Group Operations Manager in Des Moines, Iowa

This enables us to effectively serve the needs of our members and help them succeed.Position Purpose:Manage the operations, processes, policies and procedures of the Mortgage Product Group in a way that assures accurate and timely execution of all activities required for its success. This includes the management of both operations personnel and activity in both the Des Moines and Seattle offices. Represent the Bank at the MPF Program level, with peer mortgage professionals at other FHLB Banks, or external entities.Responsibilities/Duties/Function/Tasks:Manage and develop high performing team members through communication, feedback, coaching and completion of mid-year and year end performance evaluations and compensation management.Train team members in their areas of responsibility to assure their jobs are performed accurately and effectively.Continually look for ways to improve operational efficiency and develop, recommend and execute plans that create new efficiencies.Act in concert with the MPG Member Support and sales team to provide excellent customer service and improve relationships.Provide guidance and judgment in regard to issues quality control and PFI eligibility, as well as coordination and communication with the Credit Risk area to ensure risks inherent to the MPF Program are appropriately managedMaintain the Mortgage Operations Oversight Program including: monitoring of key risk metrics associated with the Bank's mortgage program, appropriate processing and reporting related to mortgage program Management Action Triggers.Provide positive contributions to various internal committees and working groups including the Mortgage Pricing Group, Information Governance Task Force, and the High Level Concern sub-committee of the Credit Risk CommitteeActively participate in the MPF Partnership and MPF Governance system-level committees to ensure MPF Program decisions are made or influenced in the interest of the Bank and its membersServe as FHLB Des Moines MPF contact with outside entities to represent Bank interests and manage vendor relationshipsManage departmental internal controls and regulatory issues. Key contact for both FHFA examination and internal audit of mortgage programs.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related area.5 or more years of experience with the MPF Program with 2-3 years of management experience.Minimum of 5 years external mortgage industry experience, preferably with knowledge of multiple functional areas (origination, underwriting, servicing, etc.)Knowledge of Federal Reserve processingBackground and experience in wire transfers and ACH helpfulStrong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees of the Bank.AMP designation preferred, CMB designation a plusDemonstrated problem solving and analytical abilitiesPhysical requirements:The physical demands described here are generally representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
