As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

This position will be responsible for supporting risk management efforts with other second line of defense programs in the firm, including but not limited to the below Enterprise related activities:

  • Manage monthly reporting representing TPE at monthly forums regarding profile and program updates

  • Enterprise Risk Identification Program-organize related BEICFs to help execute the related requirements by running the TPE/ central tool

  • Gather and analyze data to report quarterly risk review of Qtr. vs. Qtr. changes and other adhoc reporting applicable timelines

  • Articulate related variance explanations for senior mgmt. and board reporting

  • Link material to associated processes as required for the various risk titles

  • Help oversee QA processes for operational risk events and issue mgmt.

  • Communicating internally/externally across the Operational Risk Type Coverage Program and ORBOs

  • Perform review of the work products produced across the enterprise according to risk program requirements and deadlines

  • Manage group calendar pertaining to Enterprise and other group aligned deliverables

  • Collaborate with both Risk Title Oversight & Reporting team and TPE

  • Highlight and/or escalate material operational risk management issues generated through monitoring activities

  • Driving critical decisions and managing multiple stakeholders to reach agreed upon solutions

  • Communicating internally/externally across the Operational Risk Type Coverage Program and ORBOs

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

  • Exposure to Wells Fargo RCSA (Risk and Control Self Assessment) tool

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with analytical methods used to measure and communicate Key Risk Indicators (KRI), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and/or Risk Appetite

  • Knowledge of integrating frameworks to aggregate or enhance data

  • Experience with an enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite,and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance and thematic reviews.

  • Ability to develop and integrate data driven and analytical data for operational risk activities

  • Experience conducting monitoring activities and reporting for regulatory trends to determine business impacts

  • Knowledge of Basel II event types, especially execution, delivery, and process management

  • Experience developing enterprise risk management governance / framework

  • Experience developing and delivering comprehensive report/presentations to senior management, stakeholders, and risk and management committees

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
