CDM Smith Operator - Heavy Equipment in Des Moines, Iowa
CDM Smith will be working with the US Army Corps of Engineers to re-build multiple levees along the Missouri River in Nebraska and Iowa. As part of this critical long-term project, we will be building an excellent team of experienced Operators.
Under general supervision, operates various types of heavy equipment in excavation, materials management, backfilling, and dewatering systems maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment (bulldozers, trac-hoes, skid steers, graders, etc)
Excavate materials and backfill excavations
Grade haul roads Inspect, grease, fuel, and clean heavy equipment daily Maintain dewatering equipment
Perform additional duties as assigned

CDM Smith Employment Type:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: 5+ years experience operating heavy equipment (Bulldozers, graders, rollers, trac-hoes, etc)
Must have the ability to perform finish work with a dozer.
Locally required licenses;
Ability to read and follow engineering drawings;
Ability to follow instructions and meet set standards;
Ability to judge distances and slopes accurately
Must be able to travel regionally
