Robert Half is teaming up with a respected organization to recruit a Payroll Specialist for their Des Moines team. The primary responsibility of the Payroll Specialist involves the accurate recording and execution of the company’s payroll. Your role will include supplying accurate and timely financial data and taking part in data entry and payroll processing tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily operations within the payroll department.

• Oversee workflow to ensure completion of all payroll transactions accurately and within the required timeframe.

• Before transmission, reconcile payroll and validate the confirmed reports.

• Understand the correct taxation procedure for employer-paid benefits.

• Accurately calculate and comply with garnishment processes.

• Oversee time and attendance management and integration with payroll.

• Maintain and keep a record of all payroll-related documentation.

• Regularly audit payroll procedures and systems to ensure adherence to relevant standards.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred but not required.

• Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.

• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.

• Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality, great organizational skills and accuracy.

• Ability to work under deadlines and multitask.
