We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Powder Coat Operator at our Des Moines, IA facility. The shift is 7:30AM - 4:00PM, Monday through Friday with the possibility of overtime. Starting pay is $22.60 and may be higher depending on experience.
DUTIES
Operating powder coating equipment, including shot blast, wash booth, ovens, powder application and conveyor systems.
Utilize proper rigging equipment and adhere to safe rigging standards
Preparing parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and pre-treating surfaces as necessary to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
Monitoring the powder coating process to maintain proper coating thickness, coverage, and appearance, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance.
Conducting regular self-quality checks on coated parts to ensure adherence to specifications.
Following safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
Keeping accurate records of production activities, including material usage, equipment maintenance, and quality inspection results.
Collaborating with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, and quality control personnel, to coordinate workflow and resolve any production issues.
Other tasks as assigned by supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates will possess a High school diploma or equivalent and have the ability to read imperial and metric tape measurements. Preferred candidates will have experience with the following tools: rigging equipment (chain slings, lifting eyes, shackles), blast booth equipment, hand tools, wash booth equipment, ovens, powder coat paint guns, tape measure.
