We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Powder Coat Operator at our Des Moines, IA facility. The shift is 7:30AM - 4:00PM, Monday through Friday with the possibility of overtime. Starting pay is $22.60 and may be higher depending on experience.

DUTIES

  • Operating powder coating equipment, including shot blast, wash booth, ovens, powder application and conveyor systems.

  • Utilize proper rigging equipment and adhere to safe rigging standards

  • Preparing parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and pre-treating surfaces as necessary to ensure proper adhesion and finish.

  • Monitoring the powder coating process to maintain proper coating thickness, coverage, and appearance, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance.

  • Conducting regular self-quality checks on coated parts to ensure adherence to specifications.

  • Following safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.

  • Keeping accurate records of production activities, including material usage, equipment maintenance, and quality inspection results.

  • Collaborating with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, and quality control personnel, to coordinate workflow and resolve any production issues.

  • Other tasks as assigned by supervision.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualified candidates will possess a High school diploma or equivalent and have the ability to read imperial and metric tape measurements. Preferred candidates will have experience with the following tools: rigging equipment (chain slings, lifting eyes, shackles), blast booth equipment, hand tools, wash booth equipment, ovens, powder coat paint guns, tape measure.
