The opportunity

As an Energy Optimization Senior Manager, you will lead consulting services for Power & Utilities clients, implementing digital grid capabilities and systems (e.g., AMI, ADMS, OMS, SCADA, DRMS, DERMS, EMS, GIS) to drive increased value and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead Energy Optimization Consulting engagements to address complex issues within the Power & Utilities industry.

  • Optimize operational efficiencies in engagements.

  • Manage engagement timelines and budgets effectively.

  • Communicate complex concepts and implement challenging decisions while maintaining and building strong, trust-based client relationships.

  • Develop and strengthen teams at all levels, guiding their career development and growth.

  • Foster an inclusive culture where timely, authentic feedback and coaching are provided to all colleagues and team members.

  • Oversee service quality in alignment with specific client requirements, review project plans, and mentor executives in their implementation.

  • Offer strategic insights and ensure responsiveness to all clients to anticipate their needs.

  • Cultivate and maintain key client relationships (typically at the Director or Vice President level), leveraging those relationships to execute work effectively.

  • Develop account plans and coordinate the delivery of a range of services, building trust by mobilizing the right resources and ensuring consistent quality.

  • Engage in new business development by crafting innovative ideas and solutions.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in the Power & Utilities industry to serve as a trusted advisor/subject matter expert.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of related work experience, or a graduate degree with 8 years of related work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting service delivery to Power & Utility clients, with a preference for those who have also served in an advisory capacity within a Power & Utility organization.

  • Experience in leading teams, managing engagement economics, and contributing to business development.

  • Demonstrated experience in operational areas within a Power & Utility provider: Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Regulatory, Customer/Retail.

  • Proven experience with technologies such as AMI, ADMS, OMS, DMS, SCADA, DRMS, DERMS, EMS, or GIS implementation.

  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake significant travel.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $163,400 to $373,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $196,100 to $424,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
